Hello, AITpro.
I am planning to activate an SSL certificate via GoDaddy soon, but from my experience years ago and recent accounts from various web developers, the transition from http to https isn’t the smoothest. That said, in researching the common issues and recommended solutions, there were a few manual options and these two (2) plugins: https://wordpress.org/plugins/really-simple-ssl/ and https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-https/.
I was leaning towards the first because it seemed like the simpler option of the two + the second hasn’t been updated in a couple years. My reason for this post is due to the fact that Really Simply SSL modifies the .htaccess file and I wasn’t sure if/how that would effect the present BPS Pro .htaccess settings, which holds precedence over everything.
Would love to hear your thoughts when your schedule permits. Thank you.
Bill
