You can update the Genesis Theme from your WordPress Dashboard, but to prevent the possibility of Genesis Theme files being quarantined in the future you can do these extra precautionary steps below. Normally these steps are not necessary for plugin or theme updates, but 2 people have had this same problem occur with the Genesis Theme update so there is probably some other factor involved in either how the Genesis Theme update was done or something else that caused this problem. In any case, these steps below will ensure that the problem does not happen in the future.
1. Turn Off AutoRestore.
2. Update the Genesis Theme.
3. Click the wp-content Backup Files button in AutoRestore.
4. Turn AutoRestore back On.
