Took a while before I’m back to conclude this. I have taken time to migrate my sites to another server. Anyway, this has been fixed simply like this (as described by Host support):
What I did was enable mod_ruid2 in Apache. This module allows DSO to run as the account user instead of the Apache user. This got rid of the errors and should allow WordPress to work as you expect it to.
So for those who are not on DSO and having my issues, then try asking the host to enable mod_ruid2.
